Aluma Photo-Plate Co. specializes in providing the industry with the highest quality and most durable nameplates of Photo Anodized Aluminum – Metalphoto®. Helping customers finish the process of variable marking their plates and tags through EMBOSSING or STAMPING which has been problematic, until now. We are using a 304 stainless steel of .015” thickness with 1/8” and 3/16” characters for embossing. For anodized aluminum stamping, we are using a Photo Anodized Aluminum of .032” thickness with 1/16” or 1/8” or 3/16” characters.

A.1: EMBOSSING (raised characters) on Stainless Steel Blanks (silver on silver) can withstand being painted without losing legibility; resists direct UV, grease, oil and dirt damage, and is corrosion and scratch resistant. What is Embossing?
The process of embossing involves raising an image, a design, or text on the surface of metal sheets.
Our custom embosssed metal tags and nameplates are available in sizes 1/8 and 3/16, and the following materials can be embossed:
- .015" thick # 304 Stainless Steel
- .020" and .032" thick 1100 H14 Anodized Aluminum

What Is the Difference Between Embossing and Other Metal Marking Processes?
Embossing is one method for material marking that produces distinctive designs on metal. The embossing process uses a die set to press a design onto your chosen material, creating a 2D effect with raised designs.
Embossing produces marked images more quickly than other processes but is limited in its ability to produce fine detail. Each process has a unique mix of advantages and disadvantages that you must consider for your project. When speed is a crucial element for projects, embossing is the fastest marking approach. Therefore, you may want to employ embossing if speed is the major objective of your project.

Aluma Photo-Plate Co. produces high quality photo anodizing on a variety of metal plates that stand up to the rigors of the offshore environment. The product typically produced for M&M is a single unique plaque. A two day hassle free turnaround is typical and at a very competitive pricing.
The selection of photo anodized aluminum equipment nameplates and tags were brought on by their durability, their eye appeal, and their resistance to the corrosive byproducts of our equipment. Aluma Photo-Plate Co. has been our supplier of this product for the ten years I have been a buyer, primarily because of the durability and quality requirements it meets, and their ability to react to our constantly changing requirements. If asked would I recommend this supplier; the answer would have to be a resounding yes.
EPD Inc., prior to contracting with Aluma Photo-Plate Co., was using an etched stainless steel process, which was quite expensive and had a long lead-time. Often, the plates ordered where not correct and the project delivery date was not met. The last six years we have been doing business with Aluma Photo-Plate Co. We have been continuously pleased with the durability of the anodized process because they do not scratch, abrade or weather even in hostile environments. The fast and efficient service we receive from Ken Wickman makes selecting these products a pleasure. We just supply Ken with the appropriate artwork and he anodizes the plates.
