Metalphoto® is a process of photosensitizing and anodizing aluminum providing excellent resistance against direct UV fading and high/low temperature extremes, with superior abrasion and chemical resistance.

Metalphoto® is not an INK or a PAINT. Metalphoto® ID Plates are defined as the most durable of aluminum in the Industry by NAME (the Assosiation of Nameplate Manufacturers). Metalphoto® also offers the highest image resolution of any substate. Metalphoto® will not peel, crack, or delaminate.

The beauty of Metalphoto® is it can produce proto-types to very low runs (even just one) economically without the costly set-up charges required for Screenprinting, Engraving, or Etching.

If you are looking for durability, high quality and a product that can withstand harsh Industry conditions - then Metalphoto® is your choice. Metalphoto® has been around since 1954. They initially started with a NAVY contract for its durability, but soon found out all the other products they could offer to other Industries. What you get is a maintenance free, low replacement and graffiti proof product that gaurantees that your Product ID Marking are going to be there for a very long time.

Metalphoto® meets or exceeds many Federal and Military Specifications such as US, CSA, Aerospace and Marine Standards. It is rated for up to 20 years in outdoor harsh environments. Check out our Specification and Durability Charts under the Metalphoto® page.

Yes, Metalphoto® has a process known as Polycolor® providing colors by using dyes. However, the only exception is that Polycolor® is not resistant to direct UV exposure to fading and is used mainly for indoor use. The Black/Silver combination carries the maximum resistance and full capabilities in all the areas stated earlier. Metalphoto® is used wherever appearance, legibility, and longevity is important.
